Bridesmaid Dress to Baby Blanket!

Just two short years ago one my sisters married the man of her dreams and I was lucky enough to be one of the three bridesmaids who walked down the aisle before the gorgeous bride.

(That's me and 'the dress' on the far right)

Fast forward two years to current day and more exciting news can now be shared. The 'newly weds' are now expecting their first bubby - YAY!!!

Of course, as 'Aunty Amy' to be, I had to create some sort of unique gift to give the excited parents. So into the depths of my cupboard I went and dug out the very bridesmaid dress I wore for their wedding (and haven't worn once since) and I attacked it with my sewing scissors....

With a few other coordinating and super cute fabrics I pieced together a piece of their wedding day into a quilt for their bubby!!

Custom Ordered Bunting & Flower Girl Sign

How could I not share this recent custom order with you? it's just too sweet!
I received an email from one excited bride who was running out of time to make some bunting, she had intended to do herself, asking if I could help and of course I said - No worries. In a colour pallet of white, beige, cream and soft peach the banner is to be hung right along the bridal table at the wedding reception.
Also in the email I was asked if I could create a sign of some sort that could be carried by the 4 year old Flower Girl as she walks down the aisle in front of the bride. The sign was to read "Uncle Matt, Here she comes!" - what a seriously adorable idea and a gorgeously unique addition to the wedding ceremony.

After a little more chatting about fabrics etc we decided on hessian for the sign with white lettering and I think it turned out rather sweet - what do you think?

Surprise Girlie Weekend!

In 4 short weeks my sister, Erin, is getting married - Yay! She lives and will be tying the knot in Brisbane so we have a little drive coming up to join in the fun as we celebrate with her and my new brother in law (and I get to be bridesmaid!). Anyway, The other bridesmaids and I (my other sister & sister in law) all being Sydney siders and Mum being only 3 hrs drive away we thought it would be fun to surprise Erin with a flight to Sydney for the weekend to hang out with us as a bit of a girlie-kitchen-tea-hens-weekend.
So a few weeks ago, with the help of her Groom-to-be, we managed to get Erin the day off from work this coming Friday and book her some flights without her knowing.... Then just yesterday a little parcel arrived on Erin's doorstep looking like this

Inside it was this letter:

it says:

Pack your bags and don’t miss your flight
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride
Not long now and you’ll be preparing to land
in Old Sydney town with family by your side.

So what’s going to happen? I hear you ask
This Friday, Saturday & Sunday too
Your bridesmaids and Mum have fun & grand plans
By the end of the 3 days you’ll be saying ‘WooHoo’!!

Surprises are fun so ask no questions
Just take it as it comes and enjoy your life
Laughter, smiles and giggles are guaranteed
As we celebrate you becoming a wife!

Then there are just a few instructions for Erin to follow once she lands in Sydney to help us pick her up and start the weekend - Yay!
I will have to wait until after next weekend to tell and show you more just in case a certain bride to be happens to read this blog in the next few days :D

Rustic Garden Wedding Candy Buffet - my gift!

Sunday was a stunning day! The sunshine was out in force, we were dressed up in our best and my little brother married his gorgeous bride in my parents back yard - awwwwwww!
The bride and the groom, Sarah & Greame wanted a relaxed rustic garden wedding - nothing super fancy but a day where all their family and friends could kick off their shoes and celebrate with them. Mum and Dad's acre block was the perfect setting and with a gorgeous white marquee decked out with white furniture, flowers, doily bunting, candles, and a stunning huge chandelier surrounded by a garden it look amazing!

Sarah and Greame both asked for no gifts but I had to give them something so with their permission my gift to them was the wedding day's candy buffet! This was the first time I had done a candy buffet for a wedding and one for that size event too but boy oh boy did I have fun with it!!
The colours I was asked to stick to were soft pink and greens otherwise I was free to play :)

I had the perfect position to place the table... a little rustic shed my parents have in their yard which my clever dad built a few years ago. With some soft sheer fabric hanging and a sweet white chandelier from Shoppe With Lily hanging above the table my backdrop needed nothing more!

We made up a little sign that read:
This is a treat we are offering you,
on this beautiful day when we say "I do".
Use the scoops, choose what you like,
leave some for others, be polite.
As you enjoy your box of treats,
please remember; Love is Sweet!

And I had some very sweet chocolate bar wrappers made up by Cake Ink. that were personalised with the bride and grooms names and wedding date. They took 'centre stage' on my white milk glass cake stand from Sweet Style.

The table was a HIT!! I had to re-fill it early into the evening as all the guests had a ball filling their boxes with sweet goodies. My little boy, that's him in the green shorts, was never too far away from the table ;)

Celebrations!

It's a hive of party plans here at the moment and I'm LOVING it!
The obvious one is Milla's butterfly party that I have been telling you about little by little over the past few weeks. I still have lots to show you and both Milla and I are now counting down the days till the party, but there are two other fun celebrations I have been keeping hush hush.

This Friday my little family and I are heading north to my parents place near Port Macquarie. There we have a weekend of celebrations planned. On Friday night we have dinner booked at an intimate restaurant for my whole family to celebrate my sisters 30th. Like I said HERE when my other sister turned 30 I think this is cause for something special so I couldn't help but jump in to make the dinner a little more fun :) With the amazing talents of Cake Ink (seriously, I annoy these girls for goodies all the time but I just can't go past their awesome work!) we came up with some really cool and fun ways to spruce up a regular restaurant table, I also have some goodies from Flower Thyme and Little Big Company & a special cake being custom made by Party Cakes by Leora too!!

Then on the Sunday my brother is getting married (yay!) and as a gift to him and his fabulous bride I am doing the Candy Buffet at their reception. This table has been in the planning process for months and boy oh boy have I had a ball with it! The wedding is a casual affair in my parents garden with a gorgeous huge marquee (everyone think good weather thoughts!!).
I bursting to tell you all the details - colours, lollies, inspiration etc but need to keep it quiet just for a few more days to not spoil the surprise for any of the guests. Let me tell you though I have yummy treats from Little Big Company, Occasion by Design, Sweet Style, The Professors & Goody Goody Gum Drops as well as props, jars and accessories from Shoppe with Lily, Candy Soirees, Occasion by Design, Cake Ink, Sharnel Dollar Designs, Sweet Style & RubyJu.

So having said all that I am rather busy this week getting everything organised, packed and ready as well as sewing sewing sewing all your wonderful Giggleberry orders. So if the blog seems a little quite this week you know why :)

Marrying A Fireman Survival Kit

In just 2 short weeks my little brother (not so little anymore but I like to still say it just to bug him) is marrying his sweetheart - awwwww. I can't wait to see all their garden wedding plans come together and the two of them to enjoy their day... oh and I'll finally get to put together the candy buffet I am creating for them as a gift too - more on that after the wedding though.

Tomorrow is the Hen's Day (or for any US readers: bridal shower). We are having a fun and relaxed lunch together at a Tapas restaurant in Manly - lots of chatting, eating & giggles! Like normal I can't go empty handed but with instructions not to bring gifts I put my thinking cap on to come up with a fun box of goodies for the bride to be to open... something a little different to the Bridal Survial Kits I've seen around I had a play with it and make it suit the couple. My brother is a fireman so I came up with this:

"Marrying A Fireman Survival Kit"

In the box is:

A pack of tooth picks - to help her pick out his hero qualities
A jar of Tabasco sauce - to keep it hot and saucy
A pack of Lifesavers - for her when he is busy being someone else's
A pair of panty hose - to create a ladder he can climb
A roll of yellow caution tape - 'to warn him when he's in trouble'
A tube of burn cream - in case of fireman accidents
A pack of Sparklers - to keep the spark alive
A hose hanger - Somewhere to hang his hose (this one will surely get some giggles)

All pack in yellow and red tissue paper with a note on top that says:
"If you are going to say 'I Do' to a fireman,
There are a few things you'll need first to help your plan.
Enclosed are some goodies to help you survive,
To make it last forever & for the 2 of you to thrive"

Cute hey??
Can't wait to see her open all these and have some fun with them :)

Wedding Outfits for the kiddies

The Jr Giggleberry's are very lucky to have quite a few cousins that hand down clothes to them all the time - which means I honestly don't have to clothes shop for them much at all. So when the invite came in the mail for my Father In Law's wedding early May I jumped at the chance to go hunting for some fabulous outfits. With a little help from some Twitter friends I have found two rather cute outfits that are comfy and the kids will still be able to 'play' in them on the day too.

Vest, Bow Tie

Necklace, Dress, Shoes, Tights

Happy Friday Find

My younger brother proposed to his gorgeous girlfriend late last year (awwwww) but then before we knew it Christmas rolled around, New year celebrations, school holidays - somehow we ended up at the end of January before the hubby-and-wife-to-be had a chance to lock in any date for their wedding... until last weekend.

A date has been chosen for later this year and we are now all in a flutter of wedding planning - soooooo much fun! This has inspired todays Happy Friday Find.
