Giggleberry HQ Refresh!

Thanks to my parents current home improvements/renovations two lovely, solid and not very old wooden desks & matching filing cabinet were going begging so I snapped them up! Dad delivered them all on the weekend so I took the opportunity to give Giggleberry HQ or my 'Mummy Cave' as hubby calls it a little refresh.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Is it just me or with that huge black corner desk gone I am sure the room is MUCH brighter! It's soooo nice to have all our filing hidden away in the cabinet and I do think it's rather cute that it now all matches and I have even hung up some of hubby's skiing bits to make it a little more of a shared space rather than just a 'Mummy Cave' lol.

I can't promise it will be this tidy at all times but it definitely is lovely to sit and sew or work on the Mac in here now!

Giggleberry Head Quarters!

I realised the other day I have never shown you any pics of my sewing room also known as Giggleberry Head Quarters, GB HQ and to my hubby 'Mummy's Cave'.
Remember I told you way back HERE that we had bought our family home and I was the lucky duck to score the home office/study/half of the double garage turned room as my sewing room? This was how the the room looked when we inspected the house before buying:

This is the now (well a week ago when I had just tidied it):

So what is where you ask? (hope you can read the little print, sorry)

As this is the through way from the garage to the house this room also has our 'family launch pad' where all our shoes, bags, umbrellas, jackets etc live (believe me it makes it so much easier to get the kids out the door to have it all in one spot) and in sewing room dreamland of course I would love all new matching furniture (not the left over stuff we didn't need after moving) and a fabulous and plush chair for sitting in while creating and a floor that magically vacuumed itself every day but for now this little room is just perfect for Giggleberry.

Jr Giggleberry's Dragon Tails

After stumbling upon THIS sewing tutorial for Dragon Tails I knew I just had to give them a go! So I dug through my fabric stash, ordered some bits from The Habby Godess and Ribbons Galore then while my little dragons slept I got to cutting, sewing and stuffing. I was amazed at how simple these were to put together, and I found the step by step instructions in the tutorial perfect to understand.

I must admit I did cheat a little and used large ric rac from Ribbons Galore as the spikes on the tail and the straps that go around the waist are made with gingham ribbon, not fabric as in the tutorial, which was just me being lazy but I think they turned out pretty good.

The kids woke from their snooze to a new addition to their dress up box and played in the tails all afternoon! I'll take that as a successful sewing session :)

New Fabrics

I had a parcel arrive on my doorstep earlier this week from Two Little Fairies Fabrics and I was excited before I even had it opened as I knew what was inside.
These stunning fabrics from Tanya Whelan's brand new 'Delilah' collection!!

It was really hard to pick only 4 fabrics from the entire collection - they are all delicious!

I can't wait to get cutting and sewing these!! I am always asked if I have any of the Ava Rose bunting left and sadly those fabrics are now 'out of print' but I think you would agree Tanya's latest fabrics are just as stunning and are bound to make some beautiful buntings! Yay!

Sewing Machine Hospital Holiday!

So busy with Giggleberry orders at the moment, YAY! and clearly (just check out the date of my last post) I am finding it tricky to squeeze in time to blog... sorry.

In fact I have been sooooo busy lately my faithful sewing machine decided (without consulting me) that a holiday was needed!! While in the middle of sewing a custom order my sewing machine gradually slowed until it came to a complete stop and no matter what I did or how long a break I gave it it just wouldn't start again!!
Off to the repairer it went today, with my fingers and toes crossed that after a week of rest, a service and a good clean it will be good as new.
In the mean time my lovely sister has come to the rescue. I have borrowed her machine to continue on with orders - so please don't panic if you are waiting on some bunting I am still on track.
