Do you remember the photos HERE that I received back from a lovely customer, Bec, recently? They were photos from her daughter, Leni's, first babushka themed birthday party including some gorgeous shots of both mum and the big 1 year old standing in front of the babushka bunting banner I had custom made for the party.... Well I have just received an email from Bec telling me she loved the banner so much she took it along to be a part of a professional family photo shoot!
Bec, her hubby & Leni had some absolutely stunning photos taken by the very talented Mel Plambeck of Rubii Design. You can check them and other amazing images Mel has snapped HERE on the Rubii Design Blog.
Of course this one is my favorite - how gorgeous is it!?!

Custom Order - Sugar & Spice & all things nice!
I have just finished a custom set of banners for Sugar and Spice children's market.
The wizz behind this brand new market, Alison, asked if I could match the bunting to the gorgeous soft blues & dusty mushroom colours used in the Sugar and Spice logo and graphics.
I'm pretty please with the result and would LOVE to be at the inaugural market on June 20th to see them hanging up!
If you are a Melbournite or happen to be in the area on June 20 be sure to pop into St Ambrose Hall, Woodend, Victoria to check out all the gorgeous children's goodies - mostly handmade - that will be on offer from a wide range of talented designers.

My awesome parents!
I might be a little biased but I think I have the best parents in the world!! Surely you remember the Repurposed TV Cabinet that Mum & Dad turned into a Play Kitchen for my little girl (If you haven't seen it you just have to click HERE to check it out)... well they have been at it again!
My sister, Carley, turned 30 just the other day. After her surprise party I planned HERE Carley and her hubby took a weeks holiday kid free as a special birthday treat so my gorgeous parents babysat Carley's 3 kids. This mini holiday had been booked in for some time and with a whole week of being around Mum & Dad decided they would build Carley's kids a cubby house while they were babysitting.
In the early stages of designing the cubby house mum decided it would be a 'Shop' so we have been collecting old food containers to stock the shelves
Dad made a 'checkout' bench inside the cubby & Mum found a wooden toy cash register & mini trolley on ebay for a bargain
They even had a shop sign made to hang above the door way
I made some oilcloth bunting to match the signage colours to hang around the front of the roof
And Dad made a pretend petrol bowser with a real petrol nozzle he found (I think the petrol bowser is my nephews favorite bit!
There is hours, days, weeks, months - YEARS of fun to be had in this new cubby!!.... I have put in an order for one at our house now :)

How adorable is this Babushka 1st Birthday Party!?!
I was contacted a few weeks ago by Bec to make some personalized babushka bunting for her little girl Leni. Bec told me she was planning Leni's 1st birthday and was wanting a babushka theme with red higlights. Together we hunted down the perfect fabric and I got sewing. Bec also asked for a table runner in the same fabic to use on the cake/sweet table.
All the babushka bits and pieces Bec found worked together perfectly including Leni's skirt from Skye Rocket Sews and her sweet fabric covered button headband from Buttons by Lou Lou.
It looks like Leni had a fun day - Happy (late) birthday xxx

Arrrrr We Be Fundraisin'
Do you have a little pirate? does your little pirate have a birthday party coming up? would your little pirate like some bunting to hang in their bedroom or play area? Would you like to help Giggleberry support a great cause?
If you answered yes to even one of the above questions then look no further - we can help!
Firstly let me tell you about the great cause you will be helping - Running the Marathon of Autism for Felicity
Felicity is a 9 year old bundle of joy who has the warmest hugs and an incredibly cheeky giggle. Felicity is currently in her 4th year of her full time Son-Rise Program™ for her Autism, that has been nothing short of miraculous.
Get to know Felicity and read more of her story so far HERE
In 2006 a close family friend of Felicity's ran the Melbourne Marathon for the first time ever - Maryke, mother of 2, who claimed "it was tougher than giving birth". Maryke did the mammoth 42km run and was sponsored along the way to raise some of the necessary funds needed to keep Felicity's Son-Rise Program going. This year, Maryke and 4 other amazing women Carley, Jocelyn, Sammy and Nicole, are all currently training for a variety of major events including the 14 km Sydney City 2 Surf, the 21km Sydney 1/2 Marathon and the 42km Melbourne Marathon. These inspirational runners are not professional athletes, nor are they seasoned runners. They are women who are mums, work full time jobs and have children of their own but they all have one common passion - Felicity.
All money raised goes directly to:
- Providing training in the form of an Outreach where a Son-Rise Program™ teacher travels from the Autism Treatment Center of America™ to work specifically with Felicity and her family one on one in their home.
- Providing funding towards sending Felicity's mum to the United States for the 5 day 'Wide Awake' training course (in November of 2010) held at the Autism Treatment Center of America™ to further enhance the effectiveness of Felicity's Son-Rise Program™
- Providing on going bio-medical treatments for Felicity.

Rainbow Dress - made by me!
Check it out - the dress worked!
Remember HERE I told you I had bought a pdf pattern for a Tiered Patchwork Twirler Dress from Sweet Shop? I had started the dress earlier this week and with a quiet house last night and no bunting to be sewn I decided to finished it off.
I am so excited that it all came together as I have never made an item of clothing before - I was surprised at just how simple it was and very grateful for the wonderful tips in the pattern. I'm thinking my 5 little nieces just might be getting one of these dresses each for Christmas!
As soon as Milla woke up she spotted the dress on my sewing table and said "What that??" before I knew it she had it on (with a long sleeved shirt underneath as it's rather cold here these days) and she was twirling around the backyard in no time at all!
With my current obsession with the Hipstamatic iPhone application this fun dress creates some pretty amazing photo opportunities too
I have to be honest and tell you I'm rather inspired after finishing this dress to buy some more patterns and make other styles - Look out!!

Mother's Day Treat
I'm very lucky to have a wonderful hubby who enjoys to cook. He loves to hunt through a recipe book and plan a meal from entree to dessert... it seems this talent hasn't gone un-noticed by family and friends who take the opportunity of birthday and Christmas gift giving to stock our shelves with recipe books. One of the books we have received is Donna Hay's No Time To Cook.
A great book full of simple and fast recipes, one of which has become *the* spoil mum recipe!
On my birthday, our wedding anniversary and Mother's day every year hubby (& the kids) make me Berry French Toast - it's soooo yummy and such a treat! (to have it too many more time than the 3 times I do every year would be a bit indulgent)
So with mother's day this weekend hubby stocked the fridge and cupboards with all the ingredients he needed.
I'd LOVE to share the how to and ingredients with you all but the copyright on the recipe book won't allow it so you'll just have imagine the yummy goodness that is made when cream cheese, castor sugar & lime is mixed together then spread of thick white bread, topped with raspberries and then toasted in a fry pan! So good!
In the spirit of Mother's day I thought I'd share a great mum blog with you all - Sunny Mummy!
Most mummies these days know about the 'Yummy Mummy' status.
Forget about trying to keep up with this external illusion, being a 'Sunny Mummy' is such a warmer place to be...
Enjoy a dose of sunshine no matter what the weather when you visit Sunny Mummy, a bright place full of support and sunshine for your journey through motherhood. Together we will share our lives as Sunny Mummies, be lifted up when you’re feeling down, be encouraged to SHINE and motivated to remember it’s YOUR life, so LIVE it!
If you haven’t already done so, put becoming a Sunny Mummy on your ‘to do’ list and watch yourself SHINE no matter what the weather!
I'm loving this blog and, I too, choose to be a 'Sunny Mummy' - check out all things Sunny Mummy HERE and start to shine!
Happy Mothers Day to all mummy's out there - YOU ARE AMAZING!

Giggleberry has been 'approved' by Handmade Living!
What a great way to start the weekend! I have just received an email from Tania, one of the three clever women behind Handmade Market's first ever publication... handmade living.
"handmade living. is a beautiful new creation that combines the inspiration and talents of handmade designers living in Canberra and also interstate.
Its pages will be lush with stunning creations to share and inspire. A hardcover, beautifully photographed and illustrated tome (thanks to the talents of Tina Snerling), we will be working hard over the coming months to put together a book you will be proud of - and a book that will showcase your talents as a designer.
Providing how-tos, information and breathtaking inspiration, we know handmade living. will become a staple Australian publication for lovers of style, beauty and stunning creations, handmade with care."
How amazing does this book sound!?! When I read that "handmade living. will be a book that is different to anything else on the market. It will be a little bit Martha, a little bit Donna and a whole dose of unique style: not seen anywhere else in Australia" I wanted a copy right away so I thought I'd jump in and apply to be a part of the book....
Awesome news - Giggleberry was APPROVED! Yippee!
Now I need to get some product photos ready and sent off then sit back and wait as Tania, Julie & Tina work their little butts off putting the book together as it is expected to be released by early December this year!
You still have a chance to apply to be a part of this great book but only until Monday night (10th of May) so be quick! Check out all the FAQ's and info HERE

Watcha Been Buyin' Wednesday
A little late this week but here we are... Watcha Been Buyin' Wednesday/Thursday :)
Supplies, supplies. supplies!
I needed to restock my ribbon draw this week so popped into Ribbons Galore and went a little crazy. I LOVE when the ribbons arrive at my door - it's like a rainbow in a box!
I also had a few custom orders placed which I needed to grab some particular fabrics for including these gorgeous Heather Ross fabrics - I love fabric shopping!!
with all the gorgeous fabrics I use for Giggleberry bunting I have so many off cuts that I just can't bring myself to throw away. I am always on the look out for sewing ideas to use up these 'scraps'. This week I found a great idea... for the bargain price of US$4 I bought a pattern PDF from Sweet Shop to make a Tiered Patchwork Twirler Dress.
I have never made an item of clothing before so fingers crossed it works out. I have the individual layers and bodice sewn now I just have to put it all together - wish me luck!
So... Watcha Been Buying?
