LEGO Gift Wrapping DIY!

Do you have a little LEGO fan in your house? or maybe a friend of one of your kids? a niece, nephew, grandchild? Who, like my little guy, LOVES LEGO?? If so, how about this little idea for the next time you are wrapping a gift for the LEGO fan...
LEGO Gift Wrapping!

Master Giggleberry turned 5 just last week so a few days before I was thinking I needed to get his presents wrapped. I like to have a bit of fun with gift wrapping but bows, ribbons and 'pretty' things would not be quite right for my little Superhero, Ninja, Star wars loving boy. Then **DING** I had a light bulb moment. I would wrap his gifts (that were mainly boxes of LEGO) to look like blocks of LEGO!

What You Need:
Plain coloured wrapping paper (I went with traditional LEGO colours of red, yellow, green and blue)
Single pieces of single coloured cardboard (make sure they match the wrapping paper colour)
Sticky Tape
Scissors
A Round Circle Punch (mine is a 2 inch punch)
1) Wrap your gift in the wrapping paper trying to keep it as tight to the square or rectangular shape as possible (maybe even pop the gift inside an empty box if it is not quite the right shape top wrap alone)
2) Take a piece of the coloured cardboard and punch a set of circles. Depending on the size of your gift will determine how many dots you will need. I had some with 6, some with 3, some with 4 and some with 12 to suit the different gifts.
3) With a loop of sticky tape (just a small piece of sticky tape looped around on itself) stick the coloured spots to the gift evenly to look like the bumps on a LEGO piece. (You could also use double sided foam tape)

You are done. Write in a card or gift tag and hand it to the receiver - I bet it gets a great response!!

You could easily do this in pinks and purple for any little LEGO Friends lover too! Have fun xx

Ice Cream Sundae Kit Gift - DIY

Need a cute hostess gift? How about a gift for a teenager (seriously how tricky can those ones be!) or maybe a house warming present or even a 'just because' gift?
This idea has all of those covered - An Ice Cream Sundae Kit!!

I saw THIS one from Family Bites on Pinterest and knew I would be using it!

With a selection of sprinkles, some chocolate sauce (homemade or store bought), cones, tissue paper, small glass jar, ribbon and a gift box you're ready to put you kit together... these are just the items I choose to put in the box but you could include any sundae toppings you wish!

I re-packaged the sprinkles into resealable cello bags and the chocolate sauce into the glass jar then added a scrap of fabric and a ribbon to the lid of the jar. To make these extra cute you can make up some labels for everything (my printer is not playing at the moment so I went without labels).

Then all you have to do is arrange your selection of goodies into a tissue paper lined gift box.

This box of goodies is for a couple so I added a set of 'My Ice Cream, Your Ice Cream' spoons I bought from Beach House Living to the box and was ready to pop the lid on then tie a final ribbon around the whole thing.

Include a little card to let the recipient know they just need to add their favourite ice cream and you've got yourself one truly cute little gift that I know I would love to receive!!

Valentine's gift for Mr Giggleberry

I couldn't tell you yesterday what I had bought hubby for Valentine's Day because I didn't know if he would happen to read my blog before he got home from work to find his present - what a way to spoil the surprise hey? So I thought I'd share it with you today... it must still be Valentines Day somewhere in the world, right?
Now we don't usually exchange gifts but I do like to do something small to celebrate valentine's day as I'm such a romantic softy.

So first of all you need to know my man is a LOVER of skiing and the snow so when I spotted these gorgeous and fun pillow slips from Boldloft I just couldn't resist!! I have loved all the adorable goodies for boldloft for ages and thought this was the perfect excuse to buy something.
I then hung some I (heart) U bunting I had made on our bed head for a bit of extra mushiness ;)

When hubby came home from work - I said nothing about it and just waited for him to go into our room for whatever reason... it gave him a bit if a giggle and I think I might leave our room like that for a few more days.

Handmade Christmas

This Christmas I stood by my pledge to buy handmade items for all my gifts and I just can't wait for Christmas day when I get to see the faces of my family and friends when they open all the unique and wonderful items I have found over the past few months by so many different and talented artisans out there.

Both sides of my family seem to be growing bigger and bigger with every passing year so this Christmas we decided that gift buying would be for the kids only and the adult presents would be done in Secret Santa style, meaning we would only have to buy 1 adult gift each... so much easier!!

It's been a blast searching for the perfect handmade gift for each person and I'm so pleased with all of my purchases

There is felt food from Crafts by Keri, ice block cozies from Bumblebeebaby Boutique, custom kid tags from Hootie Coo Company, Samurai pants from Boutique Mia, I Spy bags from The Crafting Corner, a Tractor back pack from Bags and Boxes, a crayon roll from Retro Rugrats, and if you look in the middle of the photo there seems to be a smudge... not really I have deliberately blurred an item that is for my sister and I know she reads my blog so I'll have to keep that one a surprise and tell you all about it after Christmas....

How has your Christmas shopping turned out?? did you take the handmade pledge and follow through with your promise?? Take a look HERE for all the reasons why buying handmade is such a great idea and HERE to take the Buy Handmade Pledge yourself if you haven't already!!
