Happy Halloween!

Our house is all decorated - bats, a flying witch, a HUGE spider, spiders web, my DIY wreath, a carved pumpkin we named Jacqueline and of course some Halloween Giggleberry bunting all have their spot - What do you think?

And over the weekend Milla and I put together our lollie packs for any Trick or Treaters that knock on our door tomorrow night. With THESE super cool printables from Happy Bug Digital, some bags from Pack It In and a bulk order of green jelly beans we have a selection of 'Witch Warts', 'Sinister Sweets', 'Poison Pills' & 'Creepy Candy' to hand out! Yay!

Happy Halloween xx

Halloween Window Silhouette DIY

Bit by bit I have been adding spooky Halloween decorations to our house. Since hanging the wreath I made HERE on our front door on Oct 1st I have added a huge fairy lit spiders web, covered our front door in fake spiders web, created a HUGE plastic spider that sits on our front lawn and of course hung some Giggleberry bunting in Halloween colours in one of our front windows too... but I can't show you it all because I'm not finished yet. So I thought I'd just show you a sneak peek and how I did it.
Window silhouettes! I love the idea of these - they are super cheap and easy to make yourself but when seen at night with interior lights on behind them they look rather spooky and effective.

What You'll Need:
Black contact (I found some at my local newsagent for $3 a roll)
Scissors
Pen
Template of what silhouette you want to make (I went with bats and found templates galore with a quick search on Google Images)
Heavy object like a large book - I used these to keep the roll of contact flat while drawing my bats on it so it didn't roll up.

Grab your template - I just searched 'bat silhouette' in Google Images then choose 3 I liked, blew them up the size I wanted then cut them out. Then place your roll of black contact, unrolled on a table right side facing down, holding the corners down with your heavy objects. Go crazy tracing around your template/s - I just kept tracing my 3 different bat silhouettes until I ran out of space. Next grab your scissors and cut, cut, cut out your silhouette/s.
Now you're ready to stick! Give your window a quick clean before you start to be sure the silhouettes stick well. Then go nuts - stick away until you have the desired look... I tried to have no real pattern to my bats so they looked like they were really flying then hung the one sleeping one from part of the window frame - cool hey?

Told you they were easy to make and don't just stick with bats you can do whatever you like.... a black cat, pumpkins, snakes, rats, broom sticks or how about this one I found on Pinterest A witch stirring her poison in her cauldron!

All packed and ready to go...

I told you last Friday how Mr Giggleberry and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Well the celebrations keep going!

This Thursday (just 2 sleeps away!) Grandma & Papa Giggleberry are heading to town to mind my babies while my gorgeous hubby and I head off on a little weekend away! Yay!!

We have had this weekend booked for the past 6 months and are heading north to my father in law's unit in Port Douglas.... We plan to do a whole lot of nothing :) Eating prawns, sleeping in, walking on the beach and maybe a trip out onto the Great Barrier Reef for some snorkelling!!

So having said that I am one very busy Giggleberry this week getting ontop of orders - I'd love to go away with as much ticked off my To Do List as possible so excuse me if you see no more blog posts until we are back as I'm connected to my sewing machine at every chance between packing and organising the house before we head off.
All emails etc will be replied to as soon as we are home but for the long weekend I plan to pretend I don't even have a mobile phone!!
Hope your week is a lovely one xx

A little Easter break!

The Giggleberry family is off on a mini break over Easter with family to visit Grandma and Papa Giggleberry (YAY!). With Easter falling on the same weekend as ANZAC day this year, Australians have an extra long weekend to look forward to and I am especially spoilt as Tuesday is a public holiday and my birthday! Hooray!!

Our Etsy store will stay open over the long weekend and you are more than welcome to place orders but please be aware no mail will go out until Wednesday the 27th of April.
Any emails that come through will be replied to as always but with a little delay as we plan to relax, catch up with family, eat chocolate and enjoy the days off.
Thanks for understanding.

Happy Halloween

I'm sure this day was made just for people like me - with an excuse to dress up and eat all kinds of chocolate and candy, there aren't too many better days of the year!
But sadly in Australia we don't really celebrate Halloween. There might be a few bits of dress up outfits and themed candy in the shops but no one decorates there homes and it's rare that you'll have any little dressed up child knock on your door hoping for a sweet of some kind.
My hubby and I have just returned home after a short trip to the US and being so close to Halloween we were lucky enough to see the holiday lead up.... we saw pumpkins galore, dress up outfits, decorated shop windows and homes from a few pumpkins on the front porch to full blown pretend grave yards built in the front yard!
We must have looked like crazy tourists every time we pulled over to jump out and take photos of peoples homes but I was just amazed at the effort some people put in!!
This one was our favorite... amazing!

We even saw someone's boat that was docked all decorated too. It's not a great photo but if you look closely you can see all the things they have put up including a skeleton in the dingy!!

We had a ball looking at it all and getting caught up in the hype along the way.... I was inspired to go with the spooky halloween thing when we came across this graveyard that had one dying creepy looking tree hanging over some really old head stones and with the old abandoned house in the background I just had to snap a shot in the spirit of Halloween.
Happy Halloween Everyone!! Enjoy!

"I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane...."

We are off!! Our bags are packed and my 'to do' list is all crossed off so for the next week and a half hubby and I are on the opposite side of the world to our home in Australia, the United States. We take off Saturday morning around 9:00am Sydney time and land in JFK airport New York some many , many hours later. We are staying in NYC for one night then picking up our hire car that has it's steering wheel on the wrong side of the car and driving, on the wrong side of the road, to Sheffield Massachusetts. Where we spend the following five days at The Autism Treatment Centre of America at a training course called Maximum Impact - learning new and further techniques to help our daughter Felicity in her Son-Rise Program that day by day takes us closer to curing her Autism.

I have put a notice in my shop Giggleberry Creations letting everyone know all items in the shop are still for sale and can be purchased as normal but any custom orders and convos will be responded to after I return from overseas on the 30th of October. Any purchases made while we are away learning will be shipped off first thing on the 30th of October.

It will be a busy and quick trip but one well worth it - I'll fill you all in when we return.
