Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Bunting!
I've said it before - I LOVE custom orders. I love seeing what colour combos or themes others have in mind and then putting them together. This latest custom order was just another one I had a ball putting together.
I was asked to use a mix of pastel coloured flags and over two banners have the word: SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS!!
I am a HUGE Mary Poppins fan from waaaay back (I was a nanny for 4 years pre-kids all because of Mary!!) so I think the idea of a Mary Poppins party is just divine and would LOVE to see this banner in action at the party.

Surprise Girlie Weekend / Bridal Shower!
Remember last Monday HERE I told you we had a surprise weekend planned for my Bride-to-be sister, Erin? Well it went off without a hitch!!
With surprise flights, time with family, lots of laughs, naughty food and fun had the weekend seemed to be over too fast but was it was perfect and Erin loved it all! The main event of the weekend was a surprise Cupcake Decorating Party. Held in my home I had a ball putting together a pink and gold party setup ready for Leora from Party Cakes and Cupcakes By Leora to arrive and add her goodies to.
I made each guest a pink and gold rosette (thanks to THIS tutorial) to wear for a bit of fun. In the centre of each rosette was a sweet personalised badge. Handmade by Heidi of HMC Designs with 'Bride', 'Bridesmaid' or 'Bride's Mum' on them, each character on the badges were a perfect match for the person they belonged to thanks to the very clever Heidi - way too cute!
I also made (thanks to THIS tutorial) a pink and gold chef's hat for Erin to wear while we created our cupcake creations.
And to match the cupcake theme I strung lots and lots and lots of pink and gold cupcake cases on fishing line to create a simple, fun and effective, garland that hung above our work table.
The sweets/dessert table had yummies like individual strawberry cheescakes, gold chocolate coins, scones and gold and pink sprinkle rimmed drinks. The backdrop was simply made with circle punched pink and gold paper then stuck onto a large sheet of brown paper.
Our cupcake decorating instructor, Leora, did a wonderful job!! With 6 cupcakes each ready to decorate we all learnt new skills to make master peceis and were allowed to play with all kinds of tools, techniques and extras. We had laughs and chatter galore while we played!
If you are in Sydney and want a fun afternoon with a few of your friends or family I would absolutely suggest you spend an afternoon having Leora teach you some new cupcake decorating tricks.
These were our creations, rather cool hey? I love that each of us came up with different ideas!
Now just three weeks to wait and we will all be looking a little different as we celebrate Erin's wedding YAY!

Hessian - Hot right now!
It seems hessian fabric is the hot thing in party and event styling at the moment as I have had a HUGE influx of custom requests to use in in bunting banners.
The two most recent ones were for completely different events but both turned out fabulous - if I do say so myself.
This one was ordered by a bride for a wedding this weekend coming. The brief was for a soft pink floral, lace and hessian bunting to match the vintage/rustic feel to the wedding. I'm thrilled with the result.
I like the textured look to hessian and the uniqueness it brings to bunting. What do you think? is hessian the new thing??
The second one is for a little girls first birthday party. Hessian flags sewn into ribbon to match the pale pink gingham fabric letters.

Surprise Girlie Weekend!
In 4 short weeks my sister, Erin, is getting married - Yay! She lives and will be tying the knot in Brisbane so we have a little drive coming up to join in the fun as we celebrate with her and my new brother in law (and I get to be bridesmaid!). Anyway, The other bridesmaids and I (my other sister & sister in law) all being Sydney siders and Mum being only 3 hrs drive away we thought it would be fun to surprise Erin with a flight to Sydney for the weekend to hang out with us as a bit of a girlie-kitchen-tea-hens-weekend.
So a few weeks ago, with the help of her Groom-to-be, we managed to get Erin the day off from work this coming Friday and book her some flights without her knowing.... Then just yesterday a little parcel arrived on Erin's doorstep looking like this
Inside it was this letter:
it says:
Then there are just a few instructions for Erin to follow once she lands in Sydney to help us pick her up and start the weekend - Yay!
I will have to wait until after next weekend to tell and show you more just in case a certain bride to be happens to read this blog in the next few days :D

Pack your bags and don’t miss your flight
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride
Not long now and you’ll be preparing to land
in Old Sydney town with family by your side.
So what’s going to happen? I hear you ask
This Friday, Saturday & Sunday too
Your bridesmaids and Mum have fun & grand plans
By the end of the 3 days you’ll be saying ‘WooHoo’!!
Surprises are fun so ask no questions
Just take it as it comes and enjoy your life
Laughter, smiles and giggles are guaranteed
As we celebrate you becoming a wife!

Happy Friday Find
Earlier this week I called my mum for a recipe... a recipe for her Strawberry cheesecake that is just delicious!! I have a little get together coming up soon at my place and I was thinking I'd serve little individual cheesecakes in glass jars for the dessert - fun, yummy and just the right amount.
I have yet to play around with them and will be sure to let you know how I go... maybe I could decorate the glass jars with bunting just like these cuties I found HERE on Pinterest.
Have you served any dessert in a small glass jar? what was it and how was it received?
Happy Friday x

Firefighter Party Pics!
What a fun night! I'll write that up as a win - a relaxed, smile filled night with one very happy little 3 year old fire fighter!!
We had to bring the party indoors due to all the rain but it still went off without a hitch... just a little bit of last minute furniture rearranging :)
The drink bottles were a hit along with the snack of popcorn, pineapple, red frogs, lolly bananas & marshmallows. That's the healthy diet of all firefighters right?
A HUGE thanks to Harris uncle for lending us all his firefighter gear. I think it adds a real authentic element! The house was wrapped in caution tape and the kids could all try on and play with real firefighter uniform and gear.
I was pretty pleased with the cake in the end - not perfect but it got the tick of approval from the birthday boy and that's all that matters.
Happy birthday little man - we love you to the moon and back!
