Happy Friday Find - BUNTING SWAP!!

A special and awesome Happy Friday Find this week that all of you can be involved in - A Bunting Swap! (Thanks so much to BabyGalah for pointing this out to me)

Hooay for all things bunting and by the sounds of THIS post from Squiggly Rainbow she loves the stuff as much as I do!
The general gist of this super fun & original swap is to start by letting Squiggly Rainbow know you want to be involved and also tell her how many single flags (or 'bunts' as she calls them) you would like to swap. Then once she has your postal details she'll do all the organising to be sure you get the same amount of flags back - cool hey?!? I'm so in and think this is will be a blast!!

You don't have to be a bunting maker to be a part of it just a bunting lover :)

Happy Friday xx

Happy Friday Find

Heels, flats, wedges, thongs, peep toes, ballet, moccasins, uggs, stilettos, sandals - Like most women I could go nuts in a shoe shop and take any excuse for a new pair of them... but if I saw these seriously fabulous Bunting Heels in a shoe shop window I would have to stop, try them on and buy them!!

Happy Friday!!

I did it!!!!

WooHoo!! I did it! I ran the 14km City2Surf!!

It was a rainy morning but it didn't dampen the spirits of the 85,000 entrants I was surrounded by at the start line. I was pumped and when I crossed the start line I was so excited to finally be running in the official race after so many weeks of training.

I wish I could have had the energy and ability to take photos along the way because there is so many people in dress up, bands playing music on the side streets, little kids in their front yards waving to the crowd and generally lots and lots of people having fun!
Heartbreak Hill was tough but I got up it eventually and when I finally started the VERY welcome downhill home stretch into Bondi Beach I was rather proud of myself for getting there.
I finished the race in 1:32 and am pretty chuffed with that result as a first time entrant! I'll be back again next year to try and beat it though ;)

Most importantly I have to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone who was behind me for this run. Family, friends and so, so, so many of you gorgeous people (most of you I have never actually met face to face) who donated, sent well wishes, spread the word about why I was running and pushed me along the way - you all ROCK!!!!!
We managed to get our fundraising tally to $3708 for Felicity's Son-Rise Program so a HUGE *high 5* to all of you, THANK YOU!!!

Happy Friday Find

If you are a 'liker' of the Giggleberry Creations Facebook Page then you may have seen THIS awesome Bunting Clock I shared the other week.

I LOVE it so it didn't take much to talk myself into buying one... Iris from Art Is Everything, who hand makes the clocks, can customise the designs so I asked her to make one in my Giggleberry logo colours and I am crazy about the above design she has come up with for my new clock that will tick tock proudly in Giggleberry HQ.

Happy Friday xx

Bedside Table Repurposed into Toy Tool Work Bench!!

Inspired by THIS very clever re-purpose of a night stand by The Frugal Granny, Papa & Grandma Gigggleberry helped me turn an old un-used bedside table that hubby I didn't need anymore into one groovy Toy Tool Work Bench for my little guy.

This is how is started. A basic, old, dust covered timber bedside table that was destined for landfill!

I gave it a light sand & clean all over then painted on an undercoat.

The next part I had to leave up to Papa Giggleberry as I am no good with power tools & woodworking. With the help of his grandbabies while babysitting last weekend, Papa Giggleberry added a piece of timber to the top bedside table to make it a little wider and then screwed some peg board to the back of the unit.

Next was all hands on deck to paint it. We went with grey & black.

While the kids snoozed the other day I sat in the sunshine and hung all the toy tools on the peg board with hooks. Once I was happy with their placement drew around them with a pencil. With the same black paint we used on the bench top I painted inside the pencil outlines to create silhouettes.

A few hours drying in the sun, all the hooks popped back into place and the tools, we bought for a bargain at Aldi just a few weeks ago, now hanging in their place and it was ready to go!!

Harrison The Handyman LOVES it!! He has been hammering, cutting and 'fixing' non-stop!!

5 sleeps till I take on the City 2 Surf!!

Sneakers are ready, my iPhone has been uploaded with music, I've sussed out the public transport theory for getting to the start line... now all we need to do is wait 5 more sleeps and the starting gun will go off for the 2011 City 2 Surf!!
I'm rather excited about this Sunday's race and I can't wait to cross the finish line with a smile on my face. if you didn't know already I am running the Sydney City 2 Surf for the first time ever all in aid of my step daughter Felicity and her full time Son-Rise Program for her Autism. I'll be thinking of Felicity's cheeky giggle throughout the race and especially while I take on Heart Break Hill to help keep me going but would love some extra motivating support in the form of sponsorship if you can.

There have been many many early morning runs, sore knees, blisters and puffed out lungs to train for this race but it's only a tiny effort in comparison to the challenges Felicity takes on head first with a smile on her face. The progress Felicity has made during her Son-Rise Program has been AMAZING and for these to continue I will enjoy every step I run on Sunday in an effort to raise more $$$ to help Felicity's program go further and further.

For the ways to sponsor me through donations please click HERE or to donate with your credit card or paypal account simply click on the yellow Donate button below and follow the easy instructions.

We aim to raise $5000 and so far are at $3213. It would be so cool to run on Sunday knowing we hit our target!!

Thanks so very, very much from me and my little family in advance xxx

Giggeleberry Creations Update:
Our kiddie free long weekend away break was amazing! Lots of great food & wine, staying up late, sleeping in, window shopping and generally relaxing! We arrived home late Sunday night and have heard wonderful stories from the kids about their weekend with Grandma & Papa Giggleberry (more on that in another post).
Giggleberry is back to business with most orders up to date and in the mail. All emails & Etsy conversation have been replied to and I thank you everyone for being patient and lovely while I got to everything after a few days off. xx

All packed and ready to go...

I told you last Friday how Mr Giggleberry and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Well the celebrations keep going!

This Thursday (just 2 sleeps away!) Grandma & Papa Giggleberry are heading to town to mind my babies while my gorgeous hubby and I head off on a little weekend away! Yay!!

We have had this weekend booked for the past 6 months and are heading north to my father in law's unit in Port Douglas.... We plan to do a whole lot of nothing :) Eating prawns, sleeping in, walking on the beach and maybe a trip out onto the Great Barrier Reef for some snorkelling!!

So having said that I am one very busy Giggleberry this week getting ontop of orders - I'd love to go away with as much ticked off my To Do List as possible so excuse me if you see no more blog posts until we are back as I'm connected to my sewing machine at every chance between packing and organising the house before we head off.
All emails etc will be replied to as soon as we are home but for the long weekend I plan to pretend I don't even have a mobile phone!!
Hope your week is a lovely one xx
