This Sunday just gone was my birthday **cue Happy Birthday song** so I thought this weeks Wishlist Wednesday should be something I wish for the most..... it would feel like all my birthdays had come at once if I could magic up my dream sewing room! I'm not complaining about what I do have at all - it works just fine - for now..... but if I do some day have a long lost Great Uncle or someone pass on a fourtune I would have a space created just like this one I found on Flikr.
And these are just a few things I would have in my fabulous dream sewing room to make it even more perfect
Cubby Shelf w/Copper Bronze Hooks
Ribbon Spool Organizer
The Perfect Sewing Room Ironing Board Cover
Vinyl wall decal
Ahhhhhh to dream......

Happy Etsy Day!!!
Happy World Etsy Day everyone!!!
What is Etsy Day??? I hear some of you ask.....
"Concept: So many people don’t know what Etsy is. Wouldn’t be great to do a grassroots, marketing blitz to raise awareness and create a buzz. The idea is to create a mystery about Etsy. We want to educate the public by throwing the word out there in mass numbers without telling them what it is, thereby getting people to notice it everywhere, wonder about it, talk to people, and eventually researching it on the internet.
** Remember: For this one day we are asking that you just promote Etsy, not your personal shop. United, we stand to gain the most!
*** With the recession looming over us, we have a great opportunity to explain to people that there’s a need to go back to simpler times ie. supporting artisans and craftmen(women)."
Take a look HERE to see why us Etsians should celebrate!

Wishlist Wednesday - Cubby Houses!
I love the wide world of 'Blog Land' - you never know where you'll end up and what you'll be reading next. Two blogs I follow have inspired me to write this post, Carley of Vanilla Pixie started a few weeks back Wishlist Wednesday on her blog. Carley states "There will be no hard & fast rules about what makes my list. Maybe the items will be divine, odd, personal, who knows..." so I figured I'd join in which is when I popped into another blog I follow, Chunky Chooky. Where Cath has just posted about cubby houses.... I adore cubby houses, tree houses, forts, caves etc etc and can't agree with Cath more when she says "I think children need there own little space to play"
I just can't wait until my little family and I buy a house some time this year and we can get serious about the perfect cubby! I'd love to find an original Gypsy Wagon to park in a special corner of our backyard, I can see hours of imagination games happening already.... until then I can dream... and share my finds with my first Wishist Wednesday.
Little Red Card Table Playhouse - what a great way to have a cubby house inside your house... all you need is a card table!
Children's Tepee / Wigwam / Tipee
Cottage bunkbed doll house and playhouse
For playing with inside the cubby house... The Breakfast Special

Weekly Featured Artist - Megan of Studio M.M.E
I am amazed at this week Featured Artists work - so unique!! My favorite piece is the first picture in the post, you can find it HERE wouldn't it just look perfect above a little lady's bed??
Be sure to check out the many other gorgeous pieces in Studio M.M.E shop.
Tell us all about yourself and your craft?
I am currently a senior at Minnesota State University Moorhead, earning a dual degree in art and creative writing. I am a classical trained artist who specializes in pen and ink drawings (although my professors are pushing me out of my comfort box for my last semester). My art is reminiscent of 19th century illustrations and 16th century etchings. It is also heavily influenced by the work of Edward Gorey. Most of my pieces illustrate European fairytales. However, with my creative writing background, I have started to write my own tales to illustrate. In addition to my prints, I also make 2" pinback buttons that feature my work, so that I can wear a little bit of the Victorian age wherever I go. Then, to make things even more hectic for me, I recently started to make handmade envelopes from repurposed children's books. In this way I sometimes feel like the Renaissance woman on campus, juggling two degrees, a business, and a part-time job.
How long have you been creating your craft?
I've been drawing since the age of four. Never on the walls, though. My father is an oil painter so I had a lot of artists' books around the house to inspire me. It wasn't until this February though that I started making my envelopes.
What is one of the biggest lesson you have learnt about your craft & selling it?
RSS feed everything! When I started my business, Studio M.M.E., in January, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I thought it would be the easiest thing in the world to make a website and get people to buy my artwork. Boy, was I naive. It doesn't matter how nice your website is if you don't market it. Now I hand out business cards to everyone. I spend an hour each morning on Etsy, Facebook, Twitter, my blog, and google analytics. It's exhausting. Thank goodness for RSS feeds. Those will save you HOURS! If everything automatically updates when you post something on Etsy, then you don't have to go to each one and update it manually. It took me only two days to figure out the importance of this simple trick.
Which of your items did you have the most fun creating and why?
I absolutely loved making this piece HERE. It combines my favorite things: time travelers and details. I had a blast hiding art history references and drawing the time period clothing from 1880 and 1960 respectively. (Their cameras are time period as well.) Plus, it's a self portrait of myself and my boyfriend, so that made it extra special.
Is there a basic household item you use when creating that seems to work as good if not better than the 'actual' tool?
My mother keeps buying me Emory boards, assuming I'm using them on my fingernails. In actuality, they work amazingly well for polishing up the bevel cut on mats. I use the finer side and get rid of any extra burrs.
What is your favorite candy bar and why?
Oh goodness, this is a hard one. After much deliberation I'd have to say Kit Kat. When I was little, I knew the jingle by heart. Heck, I still do. And you get two candy bars in one! How can you argue with that?
If money, responsibilities, and time were no issues, where in the great wide world would you go and why?
Mongolia. I honestly can't tell you why but for some reason that place has been calling to me for years. I don't even want to climb the mountains. I think it's just the allure of the unknown. It's one of the last untouched regions. I don't even know if their food is good. All I know is that whenever I hear the word "Mongolia" something inside of me gets excited.

Hot off the sewing machine!
Check these out! I just love the Amy Butler Midwest Modern collection of fabrics and just couldn't resist making a few sets of banners with it! The pinks, creams and olive greens go so well together and when I matched them with the Farmers Market 'Henna Garden' fabric I had the perfect combination!
Fresh from my sewing machine this morning are these three sets - all matching fabrics with either pink, green or cream grosgrain ribbon and all listed for sale at Giggleberry Creations!
Oh and don't forget if you grab them before April 26th you'll get FREE SHIPPING in celebration of my 1st Etsyversary!!

My 1st Etsyversary is only days away!! I can't believe it's been a whole year since I opened my first shop, Giggleberry Creations, on Etsy! Time really does fly when you're having fun!!
In those 12 months I have sent bunting banners all over the world, worked with many people on the perfect custom set, been featured on numerous blogs (thanks), joined some great street teams and 'met' fabulous new friends, introduced new products, sponsored giveaways, started blogs, signed on many wholesale deals and most importantly I have learnt many lessons that will go into making Giggleberry's 2nd year another awesome one!
Thanks to all who purchased a OOAK Giggleberry Creation, I truly enjoyed making eery single one!! The collage above is just some of the bunting sets I have sold in the past 12 months I love going back through my photos and looking at them.
So to celebrate the finishing of Giggleberry's inaugural year and the beginning of year number two I've spoilt myself and had a blog makeover and I more importantly Giggleberry Creations has a special offer............. drumroll please..............

Happy Hoppy Easter!
With the four day long weekend Easter break starting tomorrow I'll be away from the computer.... actually away from my house! We are heading to my parents place for the long weekend with my two sisters, brother and families. I'm sure there will be lots of eating to many bad foods including the goodies the easter bunny might bring!
My mum and dad live on an acre block and have planned a Easter egg hunt for their grand kiddies so if I don't forget to pack the camera I promise to share some photos when we get back.
I thought I'd leave you with a little easter fun project - Paper Bunny Bunting!
In the spirit of Giggleberry Creations these fun paper bunnies from Hostess with the Mostess blog caught my eye and are such a great way to add some Easter cheer!
All you need is:
scrapbook paper or cardstock in coordinating patterns & colors
matching ribbon, about 1/2″ - 3/4″ thick
scissors
bunny template to trace
Then just take a peak HERE for how to do it.
Have fun and Happy Easter!!
